The aim is to highlight the importance of an active stakeholder engagement by the MEDAC to accelerate the sustainable use of the Oceans considering socio-economic and conservation aspects. Since 2010 the MEDAC managed to mobilize all the actors involved in policy consultation processes and in proposing shared advice for healthy and productive aquatic ecosystems and thriving blue economy. The MEDAC advice are agreed among a balanced representation of the stakeholders of fishery sector (60%) and other interest groups (40%) coming from 8 EU Med MSs also contributing to the FAO-GFCM.
